The smoke alarm needs to be connected to the power supply, and needs to have a new battery fitted. Make sure it is connected to the base properly, and press the button to test, this might reset the alarm. If this does not work, find a local electrician down the pub to have a look for you, buy them a few drinks and that should do the trick

Hi, most fire alarms made today have a low battery voltage alarm, it works when the voltage is too low to operate the alarm properly. The remaining voltage is used to make the alarm bleep, so as to let you know that the battery is flat. On a decent alkaline type battery it can bleep up to 2 days, Change the battery asap using a Duracell type or if you want a real long life, use a Lithium type battery, however the Lithium type are expensive. I hope this helps you.

I suggest putting the fire out, if this doesn't work, call fire brigade/department.
If that doesn't work, rip the sucker the ceiling and buy a new one, you might want to fan the alarm with a newspaper or something to make sure it gets some air to it that isn't smoky. Make sure the battery is in properly then push "Reset" If that doesn't work, I would seriously consider ripping the thing out of the ceiling or pulling the case off and ripping out the speaker or the wire going to the speaker until you can get an electrician or new fire alarm in the morning

Sometimes dust will get these things going, so a good vacuuming is free. You've mentioned you tried a new battery. Lastly, how old is it? The manufacturers generally claim a 10 to 12 year recommended life span. (Though I have had some last twice that long, I choose to replace them now at this 10/12 yr interval.) New ones even come with stickers to remind you of the expiration date.

Re-connect it to the mains and make sure the battery is in properly...then press the reset button on the inside of the cover.
If that doesn't work buy a new smoke alarm...IT MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE ONE DAY.

It may have developed a fault... put a different battery in and reset it, remember to 'test' it. If you still have no joy I think you'll have to replace it..... I can well imagine how crazy the beeps will make you!!!! Torture! Good luck!

If it's a mains model with battery backup, it will need both power sources connected before it stops warning you that something is not right!

Depending on the make it possibly needs replaced depending how old it is.
It could also just be dust that may have fallen into the chamber
