You can't credit only 1 person for that invention, but a group of people at sony under the leadership of Ken Kutaragi, are the ones responsable for it.

Ken Kutaragi, a Japanese man who has a very HIGH position in Sony (probably CEO, or something like that). There's really no way to tell. The inventor usually doesn't get noticed very much.
