Not monster - they've never had good listings in my area. I believe (and my current job is proof) that the best jobs are not advertised. You can find a better job by word of mouth or small newspaper listings.

My last 3 jobs I got from online (I think my current job was through monster), but it's no good just leaving your resume there. You still have to be pro-active and chase the jobs you are interested in.

Yes, I have but I replied to a job posting put up by a recruiter and after talking to him I ended up going on a number of interviews, received offers from almost all of the interviews and then chose a job that had not been posted on the website. But I would never have found out about it without going to careerbuilder.com first.

Yes, but it was with a person that, when he received my resume, he realized he knew me already from prior business dealings.
It's possible to get a job via one of these sites, of course. But consider this: how many other people are submitting their resume for that same job? It can be dozens or hundreds. What's going to make your resume stand-out from the 50 other resumes that they receive?

I have got jobs from them. However the best two jobs I ever had was from small one line ads in local area papers.
