My best friend was hired at a company. Once they found out her husband was a disabled vet, she was told by her employer "it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don't know if I like the fact that your husband depends on you so much. I don't think you are right for this company."

Would it be worth it to contact legal representation?

Try the sites below. Make sure to change the location/state in which you reside or work. Hope this helps.

I don't think you are getting the whole story.

I would say it is wrong, but most states have a "Work at Will" policy, they do not need to have an excuse to let you go. You could have on the wrong eye glasses, make the boss mad, and they can let you go.

As a Disabled Veteran myself (40%), it is wrong for the employer for saying that. If you file suit against them for wrongful termination, did anyone else hear them say it, or is is going to be "he said, she said".

I am sorry, but call around for free legal consultation, let someone hear your side of the story and see if you have a case.

Good Luck
