It'd be cool if Sweet Polly Purebread morphed into Powerful Plundering Polly and told Underdog to stop popping pills and hiding things from her. She was always so wimpish that any power that would help her to take control over her life and situations would be a definite plus.

Most heroes are attracted to other heroes due to their courageousness and heart. Otherwise the mate is completely devoted and understanding. I dont see a large character switch that would be interesting.
