what's the best pet,a dog or a cat?

dogs really do rule.

I think I may have been fed cat meat once.

dogs are totally awesome. they are really human too. it is like they talk toyou and read your mind. they are also life saving animals and they take our breaths away at thoses little tiny cute faces.

Depends on how committed you are. Dogs are like babies in that they need constant care and attention their whole lives. Cats actually grow into adults and are generally as independent as most adults. A cat can be as good a friend as a dog, depends on how you treat it. Petting a cat can be very relaxing and peaceful. And something a cat will NEVER do: wake you up in the middle of the night barking at any- and everything, including barking just because another dog is barking. God, I HATE that! Dogs do have their pros, but I prefer cats.

I've had both all my life. Initially, the dogs were very time consuming but when they were trained to come on command, sit, etc... they turned out to be awesome pets. cats, are pretty much impossible to train. But I do train mine to not get on kitchen cabinets by using a water gun. You can leave a cat for the weekend with plenty of food and water... but not a dog. A dog lives to please you and loves you unconditionally , even when you're acting like a real ***. Sure can't say that about a cat !!

Dogs are better. They have more personality. I know that sounds stupid because the word "person" is right in there. But my dogs have many human traits. Like being jealous if I spend more time with the other. Cats are ok if you want to have a stinky house. I like to pet cats at other peoples houses. Dogs can help the blind, the can find drugs, they can detect arson, the help the police disarm people with guns, they can love your children and keep your feet warm. No stinky old cat can do all that.

A dog. Cat's are cute, but they don't scare prowlers. Unless the cat is a lion, but remember Sigfred & Roy for those of you who may be stupid enough to get a lion or tiger as a pet.

well i like cats better only when they are very young babies that are really cute. once they get older they are ugly and boring. i have a dog now hes 3 and still very cute. i like dogs more. when i had a cat shes didnt come to greet me when i got home from school like how my dog runs over to give me a kiss and stuff. i love my dog

I have always been partial to BIG dogs but my kids wanted a pet and I didn't want something w/ alot of responsibilities now so we ended up getting a kitty (then another one) I have always HATED cats until I got 2 and I love them to death now!

Dog - Now what size dog depends on you. I have always liked medium to large dogs. Growing up I had a Long haird Chinese Shar-pe and he was the greatest... he slobered alot and had eye problems but he was a good dog... I now have a Golden Retrever/Boxer mix and she is a good dog. German Shepards have also always been a fav. of mine and they are excelent when trained.

I don't have either but cats are playful and dogs are amazing protectors- one time a dog walked with me while I was going somewhere alone- I don't know where it came from either, but it walked with me till my destination, and even escorted me back all the way home! Till this day I am still wondering about it.

Cats for inside the house and dogs outside if you have room to let them run and play. Personally I prefer cats because they are so independent in there lifestyles.
