dreams are a reflection of what is going on in your subconcious mind. So that are very important in showing things that go on in your head that you arent aware of, but i wouldnt say i depend on then to predict my future.

Not really so important according to the Vedic knowledge. We are all in a dream in this material world also known as Maya (illusion). Only one fourth of the souls come to the material world (the less intelligent ones) We are living a type of virtual reality. Sleeping dreams are just illusions within the illusion, and are considered in the mode of ignorance, unless they are spiritual. We are not this body, IE; race, color, nationality, religion, job, mind, senses, intellect, etc. Yet everyone is identifying with that due to illusion. We are eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. We have to fully reconnect to get out of misery and illusion. The quickest way is to chant the maha mantra (the great mantra for deliverance from suffering and illusion. Go to harekrishnatemple.c for details and read Bhagavad Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada- tells the meaning of life and how attain your constitutional piston.

I believe in them. Many times I have had dreams that came true. But not always in the same manner as the actual dream it's self, but very close. And had dreams that brought back many great memories also, good and bad. I also think dreams indicate a Strong working mind. So dream on..........!

Dreaming occurs during REM (stands for Rapid Eye Movement, and I've also seen it as Random Eye Movement) sleep and studies have shown that during this sleep stage (REM), our brains become active. This activity in our brains aid in development and growth and also aids in memory and converting short term memories into long term memories. It's not so much the dreams that are important, but the stage of sleep they occur in. For someone with a sleeping disorder such as sleep apnea or insomnia, brain activity and memory consolidation is extremely short, if it even exists, and this has a lot to do with the fact that sufferers of these disorders lack alertness and such because their brain is not functioning the way it ought to.

The role and importance of dreams during this stage are debateable. Some say there is no importance to them because they don't even remember what they dreamt anyway, but you can train yourself in remembering more of your dreams and if you can do that, you'll see that you may have some wild and crazy dreams sometimes, but others can actually help you solve issues that you are dealing with, and in some cases even warn you about future events (precognitive dreams).

Part of the argument for dream importance is that by dreaming, our subconscious is working out our problems for us while we sleep, some think they actually aid in the memory consolidation process itself. Others think that they are just our subscious way of burning off steam and that we'd all be so stressed out with stuff going on in our life if we didn't burn off the steam during sleep.

Here are some articles to check out. I tried to find some reputable sources, such as medical and academic sources.

Do you mean when you sleep or what you dream of doing or having? If your talking about the ones that you dream of when you sleep I don't think they are all that important. However I do believe that it's good to have dreams like what career you want, what house you would like to have, what wedding you want, etc...Those dream I think are important.

Dreams are reflection of your subconscious mind. It reveals your hidden personalities, fear, deep desire and so on. Understanding your dream is like understanding yourself.

However, dreams can be triggered by media effect, actual event and personal experience. Blend them together, it could the world that you never know about yourself.

Dreams represent the things we always want, the situations we always wanted to be in, and the world from our point of view. Dreams can also tell us something.

I THINK DREAMS ARE IMPORTANT EVEN THOUGH MANY REALLY MEAN NOTHING AT ALL SOME ACTUALLY ARE BASED ON WHAT YOUR FEELING ARE AT THE TIME OR MAYBE YOUR DESIRES, YOUR INTERESTS, AND THINGS THAT ARE IN THE BACK OF YOUR MIND. IN DON'T THINK THEY SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY BUT I DO BELIEVE THEY ARE WORTH THINKING OVER AND DECIPHER AS IT MAY BE SOMETHING YOU ARE LACKING OR A PART OF LIFE YOU FEEL YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON. SUBCONSCIOUS LEVEL OF THINKING...

Dreams aren't nearly as important as reality. Concentrate on real life and try not to analyze your dreams so much.
