Unless he picks up another injury between now and the start of the World Cup, he will definitely play. He could be playing right now, and perhaps could have played the last couple of games, as the break on his rib is a fracture, rather than a displaced break. He could wear a chest protector to keep it safe and sound!!!

I would be very surprised if he doesn't play in the World Cup. He's copping some stick at the moment from some quarters, saying he shouldn't have left the current tour of Australia - and that he would be able to play now if he was still in the country as his injury wasn't all that bad.
Anyway, if you were England, wouldn't you choose a semi-fit Pietersen for the World Cup over any of the batsmen playing against the Aussies and Kiwis at the moment?

Apparently he should be fit again in plenty of time for the World Cup...not that it will make much difference to England's chances.
