I am sure there are lots of web sites if you search for them. I know of several competitions anf have built them many times. The best I knwo of is made from a 2 liter plastic pop bottle for the chamber and fill with about 12 oz of water and use around 80 lbs of air pressure to launch. Some science stores sell launchers, you need compressed air. You can check www.nasa.org or www.secme.org about how to make the nose and fins, you can even add a parachute. have fun, its a real blast , pardon the pun, but it's a rush to watch these things launch.

water rocketry is simple, you need a vessel to hold water and compressed air, and a nozzle of some sort on the vessel. You can use a 2 liter bottle and fashion s sturdy cap for the bottom, you should also try gluing some fins on the bottle for stability as well. fill the bottle halfway with water, and put the cap/nozzle on the bottom. hold the bottle with the cap/nozzle facing down, and pump some compressed air in the bottle. let go and the air will pump the water through the nozzle and propel the rocket upwards.
