I'm currently in college to become a high school German teacher. I'm curious to know what they make within a year.

It varies GREATLY depending on the state you are in. Bi-Lingual teachers typically make more than the average. It also depends on how many organizations you head up (PTA, etc). A very rough guess is $30k-$45k depending on the city.

A teachers wages vary on four things

Where you teach (Montana vs New York) is a big difference - starting wage would be between 20-45,000 depending on where you teach

Experience - Teachers wages go up based on the number of years they teach

Advance Degrees - Masters degrees and doctorates tend to give you a higher wage in most areas of the country

Need- Special education and foreign language teachers are often hard to find and get a slightly higher wage.

In the Philadelphia region the typical starting salary for a teacher with only a Bachelor's degree is around 40K give or take about 3K.

i know some people that teach 3-4 grade that make around 35-40k a year
