If your willing to find music with an open mind and listen to non-main steam stuff I'd recommend http://www.jamendo.com/en/. Its all those bands you've never heard of. They have every genre of music you can think of, some in english some not. Great site though, I've signed up awhile ago and seriously there is no hidden fee or tricks. All you need to know is how to bit torrent.

You could download a program called Limewire from limewire.com. Use it to search for songs from any singer whose name your typed in the search bar. The program is free, but any extra functions will cost money.

I like to use Yahoo music, they play ads, but the ability to rate music is great. Thus you hear music that you like.
