I've only had my Ipod since Xmas and I've hardly used it, also there are only about 100 songs on it. The other day the battery went and just now I plugged it into my computer to recharge and when I connected it to Itunes it said I had to restore it back to it's original settings. Theres also a message saying ipod software update. Has anyone had a similar problems and is it normal for it to do that or is faulty??!

Thanks

are you plugging it into the same computer? you have to do that, also, there may have been an update to itunes since your ipod was manufactured and the CD packaged with it. Updates are released all of the time. Updates are fine, run the update. Also make sure you fully charge the battery to get optimal usage. If you continue to have problems take it back to the store, if it is that new it is still under warranty.

yeah i have had similar prooblems , does it work when you dnt connect it to you computer? or is there a symbol on the ipod? the fault depends on the symbol it shows and to recharge it why dont you use ur external dock? and you nedd to update ur software which u can do easily from www.apple.com/support
also i think it is fault to be honest.

Sounds faulty if you have to restore it back to original settings. If it keeps doing this I would send it back.

I've not had that problem, but just follow the instructions and you should be fine.

It's a good idea to make a backup of all your music, just in case things mess up; I burn data DVDs for this purpose.

Press ALT+F4 when in iTunes. That should restore your iPod.
