With the world in such a chaotic state, should scientists be considered more qualified than other citizens to guide public policy.....I feel that they should....if anyone opposes, explain why

My wife's an analytical chemist with a BS in Physics, so I feel qualified to answer with a resounding......NO!! She's completely clueless to world affairs because all of her energies are focused on....you guessed it....her specific field of study.

Scientists tend to be the most socially detached individuals within their community...you think a bunch of social outcasts should dictate social policy?? Let them run for office like any other politician.

No. Thats why it's called "public" policy.

Scientists already have enormous influence as it is. That's why NASA is a huge sinkhole for billions of taxpayer dollars. Sure, the planet Mars is interesting, but do we REALLY need to go there?

i would feel much safer and have more confidence in my ruling bodies if the scientists took over. at least they know what the hell they're talking aboot. and maybe we wouldnt be in so much conflict across the globe, since most scientists are peaceful folk.
