This has gone on for too long, if he doesn't get in then Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire should not ever be considered.

Time for people to realize something. In my opinion, Pete Rose should get in, but not McGwire or Bonds. Why? Because it's the Baseball Hall of FAME, not the Baseball Hall of CHARACTER. His betting had everything to do with the person he was, but nothing to do with the caliber of player he was. he was a great player, and he should get in for that. His betting had no effect on his great ballplaying. McGwire and Bonds used steroids to reach their greatness. All Pete Rose did was bet on a game. That shouldn't keep him out of the HOF. Betting is nowhere near steroid use or corked bats. He should be allowed in becuase he was a great natural ballplayer, just like everyone else in there.

It will never have gone on too long. What Pete Rose did was the equivalent of insider trading, and the SEC will slap you in jail so fast for that one that you'll never now what hit you.

Pete Rose should never, NEVER be in the HOF. Neither should Bonds. McGwire is still a ?

he doesn't have a shot with Bud Selig in charge, once he leaves office a new commishioner might allow him to get on the ballot. Then its up to the voters.

As for Bonds and McGwire, they haven't been convicted of anything just alot of questions that haven't been answered.

PETE NEEDS TO SERIOUSLY BRIBE THE "POWERS THAT BE..." It's a shame to keep that honor from him though. He was ONE OF THE BEST. Just an aside here, do you remember what Mr. Rose did to Ray Fosse of the Cleveland Indians in Pete's first ever All Star game? Hint - I believe Ray hung up the spikes for good after that game.

I agree. Bonds and McGwire shouldn't be considered. Maybe if Bud Selig could change his mind, then he may go in.

I bet he gets in as a player and not a manager.

Yet it will take time. They have to lift his ban. I am hopping they do it soon, and he takes over for the Rockies. I think the team is the best farm team in baseball, and could play in the majors if they had a real manager.
