I don't think she did it on purpose. There are thousands of car accidents a day and this was just one of them. It's not like she was driving drunk or disregarding anyone else. These things happen, unfortunately, and the best we can do is pray for everyone involved. What if it had been you that caused an accident? It's not like she decided to go do it. I think it's a horrible tragedy for the family and children of the woman killed, and I'm sure that Brandy is overcome with guilt and sympathy as well. As far as celebrity status goes, she should not be treated any differently in a court of law, than any other citizen would be treated.

How do you know she had "no regard" for others? Accidents happen every day, and unfortunately, people are injured and sometimes killed. I am not saying that I do not feel for this family, because I do. All I am saying is there is no evidence (that I have seen) that shows that Brandy deliberately caused this accident. It is a horribly sad story, but unless there was blatant disregard (such as she was driving 100 mph in a 45 mph zone, etc), I don't think she should go to jail. She didn't cause the accident and then leave the scene, and she has not denied the accident or denied blame at any time.
Yes, it's sad, but unfortunately it happens all the time. You don't hear about "Joe Schmoe" killing someone in a car crash. You only hear about it when a celebrity is involved.

I seriously do not understand why someone should go to jail for an ACCIDENT?? Traffic accidents happen every day. Unless you deliberately try to run someone over, then I don't believe you deserve to go to jail for, and I'll say it again, an ACCIDENT. It wasn't a pre-meditated crime, it was an unfortunate ACCIDENT. That's the price we pay for living amongst people and driving on highways. It's a sad situation when something like this happens, but I don't believe Brandy (or anyone else for that matter) should be thrown into jail because of an ACCIDENT.

Brandy was not drinking and driving, nor under the influence of anything at all. I think it's an unfortunate accident and she should face whatever legallities anyone else in that sort of situation would face, which quite frankly isn't very much. She did not do this on purpose or with malicious intent... she's no different than anyone of us. Imagine how many times we've all talked on our cell phones or played around with a radio station dial? This could have happened to anyone of us.

Yes, she should go to jail, just as if it were someone who was a non-celebrity....no special treatment!
She caused the death of another human being and should be held accountable for that loss of life. Do you think this woman's family cares whether the person who killed their loved one was a celebrity or not? No.
Celebrity status should have no bearing on her punishment.
From what I hear she's looking at 1 year in jail and $1000 fine....for misdemeanor involuntary manslaughter.

It is sad especially for the family of the woman who was killed. There are consequences to our actions & Brandy should have to deal with them, whatever they maybe, jail, restitution to the family, etc.
But I'm saying right now, Brandy is not going to spend one day in jail. Probation, community service, or a combination of both most likely.

Yes she should go to jail. She took someones mom away with her carelessness. I'm sure she's going through an extremely hard time herself dealing with this but she needs to suffer the consequences. As far as them keeping it hush hush, thats just good publicity work. It had to come out sooner or later but at least they had their privacy to deal with this without all of the public opinion.

I believe when in court she should be judged as anybody other irregardless of her 'celebrity status' i think she should be done for death by dangerous driving, or atleast involuntary manslaughter, and yes i feel she should go to prison.. but that is of course upto the judge. I do feel sorry for her, because it must be awful to know that you've have cause the death of another human being, especially a mother, so i do feel this will come into consideration at her sentencing.

Brandy is not just a celeb, but a black cleb - therefore she deserves special treatment.
She should pay a $200 fine and go on with her life like nothing happened.
