Just check with your local office of Housing and Urban Development. They have listings posted of available housing in your area. I assume you are already on the program. If not, good luck. The current waiting list is long, and they rarely open the list for new applicants anymore. On a different note, any property owner who hesitates to accept Section 8 tenant housing, is missing out on a great opportunity. HUD screens applicants extremely carefully (a lot more thoroughly than you can). They periodically set up in- home inspections in order to make sure that the tenant is keeping up the property. If there is any destruction or poor maintenance, and if it is not corrected by the tenant (if it is his fault), he is given a certain amount of time to make it right, or is removed from the program and premises. The property owner has peace of mind with respect to his property. By the same token, the property owner must do his part by performing maintenance and repairs that are required for normal upkeep. Another thing, if there is any drug activity within that household - out you go, no ifs, Ands or Buts!! Property owners, consider this great option!!

Your local HUD office should have a list of Realtors' that rent in cooperation with Section 8 assistance. If that fails, then try a realeastate agent whom does property management.

whatever city you are moving to, just look up the city's website. Under it go to housing & development or housing authority. Im not sure which. But they should have the info. and a link to the main offices in your area and the application process.

Contact the HUD (Housing & Urban Development) office in your area. They can provide you with a list of apartments and houses that have been approved. This will give you contact info and possibly assistance in moving
