I feel we Brits lost our emopire as a result of the two world wars...

After WW1 we imposed the Treaty of Versailes, which found Germany guilty of the 'war guilt clause' (article 231) - which demanded 6.6 billion pounds in reparations - which would ony have been finnished being payed last year!!!

WW2 saw the collapse of them empire - circumstances, caused by an obsession with appeasement (perhaps a little simplistic, lol), resulted in Britain withdrawing troops from the rest of our Empire (mainly as the USA would not jonthe war effort!)

Nevertheless, at the end, we did not ask for any reparations, and in fact the US gave money to Germany to help them rebuild - whilst we were left stranded with a empire over which we had no control and with serious debts to USA

It grew westward until the "Colonials" in America threw us out. By then however we had established our presence in what was to become the jewel of the empire, India. Because of the effects of trade with the empire the cost of living in the UK actually dropped by more than 10% between the mid 19th Century and the start of the 20th Century. Proof if it were ever needed that the Americas were just a costly mistake, apart from Canada that is. It was said that the sun never set upon the British Empire, and it was rumoured that this was because God did not trust us in the dark.

Britains empire changed with the industrial revolution and all the big factories.

it is still changing - although on a much slower scale now. If you want specific info you need to give a more specific question - tho if you have internet access, as you clearly have, then just search on specifics as given in your homework questions.

The Yanks threw our tea in to Boston Harbour. We'd like it back, with interest. Please.
