I wanted to know if you saw the Diane Sawyer Camden children program & wld u be willing to find out more info?

It was a program on the poverty of children in Camden,NJ. I was completely heartbroken and wanted to know how we as a country and as individuals could help. I was especially drawn to the child Ivan, his brother and mother who could not read and were living on the streets the majority of the time. They are in a church that got them temporary housing,but it baffled me that the church said they were poor and couldn't help out much. I find this ridiculous. If you have shelter and food, how can you be too poor? I couldn't believe there was no one to take these children in. I would wish you would have them on your program. This mother needs an education. I was left feeling helpless about this and wish I could foster these two little boys myself and let the mother try and get herself on her feet. Would you mind looking into this. These were not the only children in this program. All of them were in great need; this family just really touched me. Thank you, Marcia Wright

I saw that also a couple of nights ago and it too, saddened me.
I can't believe that people always talk about all the kids in Africa and Cambodia and everywhere else and there are kids like that in our own backyard!! Why doesn't the stupid Extreme House MakeOver build them a house??? Why didn't Madonna chose to adopt form her native Detroit where there are plenty of underpriveledged children? Why did Angelina chose to go across the globe to find a poor unfortunate child?? I don't understand why we give so much money to other countries for extreme poverty and there is extreme poverty here as well. It pained me to see the mother going from place to place looking for somewhere to take her child. The little boy didn't even know you were supposed to eat three times a day! just when I think I have it rough, I see people like that and it makes me wish I could just pack my bags and go help them. Do you think Diane Sawyer or any of them gave them any money for doing the report on them?? Or did they go back to their 5 star hotel room and slept on fine linens feeling good???
