That's a good question. Hollywood is full of recycled movie ideas these days. I'll be glad when these are put to rest:
1) Interracial dating...friends and family don't like it...couple's relationship is strained...they get back together in the end b/c LOVE prevails. (barf)
2) The guy from the wrong side of the tracks has a great opportunity (business, school, music, etc)....but has a chip on his shoulder....needs to learn how to be respectful....turns out to be the best and brightest.
3) Flimsy plot involving drugs, drugs and more drugs....cinematography makes you dizzy....nothing's resolved in the end.
4) Dance movies. Enough said.
5) Good cop v/s bad cop...good cop is set up...has to clear his name and save the entire city from something dumb....it looks like it's certain death....no wait!....good cop wins. (bleck!)
LOL. :-D

I've just watched 'snakes on a plane' and I'm fed up with the pilot dying and someone else having to land the plane. Every film set on a plane has the exact same plot. It's so overdone that you expect it.

I am really tired of horror movies with little kids and hollow-sounding nursery rhymes. For indie films, anything about a dysfunctional quirky family, or weirdo misfits in the heartlands.
