the nfc and afc rotate which team is the "home" team every year. the "home" team decides which color of uniform they will wear, home or away jerseys. last year for example, the steelers were the "home" team and chose to wear their white jerseys. it has nothing to do with record or locations, just a simple annual rotation.

Becuase the Bears have won more games. It has nothing to do with location. Determining home teams is started with records, then its conference, and then strength of schedule.

I think that it is chosen by which team has a better season and the team with the worse season who is the under dog gets home field advantage
