Vick is staying with the Falcons, it doesn't make sense to get rid of a guy on a contract that massive. I think Schaub can handle the load, I myself would love to have him test the free agent market to give my Panthers a shot at him, the guy's got skills, it's a shame he's just a backup QB. Until the Falcons develop a passing game, I wouldn't expect them to do that outstanding. Their defense fell apart last season, which severely hindered their team, in which they had great ball control and clock management with the emphasis on the run game. If Vick can stay consistent (Like he was against the Cowboys last season) they'll have a chance. The guy lacks patience to wait for a receiver to get open if he's blitzed. We shall see though, a new coach could mean everything to Vick and the Falcons.

Actually there is some good talent on that team. Micheal Jenkins hasn't fully developed into a threat, but he will get there. Alge Crumpler is a superb tight end if not one of the best in the league. Warrick Dunn is just a plain out good running back.
Vick hurts the Falcons more than he helps them. They utilize him too much to run the ball and not pass. Yes, he is a great runner, but he plays quarterback. That position is meant to pass the ball and direct an offense. In Vick's mind its run first, pass second. Steve Young was a very successful running QB. Vick contains off-field issues, on-field problems, and well, kills coaches jobs. The offense should not work around him. He should work with the offense.
Shaub could go in and be great. And well, if they want to maintain a running QB. Then I feel DJ Schockley would prove to be a much better fit for the Falcons.

well actually if they bench vick and let schaub throw the ball and do what he can they wont have a problem. whats really funny is all the guys jumping on the recievers but when he is in and throws they catch the ball. so in return they probley wouldnt lose to many games. far as if they make the superbowl they got as good as chance as anybody if they dont play vick. auther blank the owner is a dumb as hell for firing mora and not vick. the only probley is he will stay with vick until potrino tells blank off and sits vick. until that happens we will never be a great team.

Unless they retain Matt Shaub, they're screwed with out Michael Vick. Love him or hate him, a QB that runs a 4.32 40 yard dash and can throw the ball 70 yards deep is rare!

If they put in Matt, i think it will improve the team ALOT. The Falcons would have a QB who would throw more than run!!Someone put .....the problem is the Rec'vers, yeah thats a little true...think about it, if you have a QB who runs more than he thrwos, then his rec'vers are never hot!! Vick needs a to learn how to THROW the football, or move to a different position. Personally, i think he would make the perfect WR!!!

Matt Schaub is a good QB but the problem with the falcons is they don't have good receivers. Vick is a great athlete, they need to focus their offense on working around him, not trying to get him to work with the offense. Plus too much money is invested in Vick to let a back up run the show. And a Back up is a Backup QB for a reason.

im sick of these questions. hes gonna be a falcon next season. no more what ifs! he cannot not leave the falcons because if he is cut or traded, the team will take a tremendus cap hit. if he wasnt on the team, they would be very bad. he may be a bad passer and bad player as some think but he challenges defenders almost every play. he adds the unpredictibility. but forget his running, with bobby petrino in as the new coach, he should become an even better passer. and his stats will actually show for it... hopefully.

How many of us remember how bad the Falcons are when vick is not playing.
No Vick, no hope. I don't care what he can not do. But what he can do outweighs what he can not (or better yet what his supporting cast can not).

I think they will do a lot better.Micheal Vick does not know when to run and when to pass.If he was more like Peyton Manning he would still be on the team.
