I often am a bargain shopper....and now there are tons of inexpensive knock offs....and even some that are real but somehow smuggled out of the factories and resold for cheap..........but I have a feeling that there is value to actually taking a girl to the designer store downtown have her try on all the hot purses and be treated like a princess by the sales people.....it's an experience that she won't forget......but my question to the ladies is.....do you care where it came from?

What you are not looking at is if you give the designer purse knockoff, and if she has a problem with it for some reason . She can't take it back to the corner stand where you bought it from. You definitely get what you pay for as designer purses have top quality cowhide not vinyl that has been rolled around paper, and the hardware that holds the purse together is usually brass, not plastic that cracks, or another cheaper metal that tarnishes . The stitching will also be done in top quality thread, not some cheaper thread that will break after she uses the purse for a short period of time. My sister has a Louis Vitton purse that is 15 years old, and it still looks great. She carries it everywhere and nearly every day. These designer knockoffs are expensive too for what what they are made of. Buy from a ruputable retailer so you will not be embarrassed if something should happen that would be covered by the retail store you purchase it from.
I personally will only buy designer things from a reputable retailer.

Honestly it truly depends on the person. Some girls love designer purses while others think there alright. Some really nice purses such as coach or juicy can be VERY expensive. I feel that if you see a "knock off" purse and it looks very similar and its looks in good condition and is made with quality i am sure that it wont really matter, but like i said before it depends on the person but to most people if u purchase a "good" fake purse im sure no one will really notice.

I really like a bargain as much as the next person - there is a certain rush that comes with finding a good deal or snagging an excellent find.

That being said there are some things which you should always go for quality - handbags are one of those. If you steer away from fads or loud colors and select a name-brand, high-quality bag - it becomes a timeless piece that coordinates with many styles. This type of gift is always appreciated and will be used over and over.

A lot of girls like to change their bag regularly (myself included) and might shy away from a name-brand because of the price of changing their bag. I would recommend checking out this website - it offers exclusive, name-brand bag rentals for a monthly fee. That way when you get tired of the bag you have you can exchange it for another or if you've fallen in love with it you can buy it from them at a reduced cost.

My husband offered to buy me a coach bag for my birthday from the factory store in the mall... I really wanted it, but who really cares what I am carrying or how much it costs. I put my purses on the floor kick them out of my way, way should I get the real thing when you can get the same at flea markets etc... I got a Liz Cliborne (brand new) from a garage sale for 5.00 I get a lot of compliments from it.....I was able to do my bargarin shopping spent 200.00 and got alot of stuff for my vacation vs. him spending 200.00 on one purse and I wouldnt have any new things to wear.......

I would rather have a nice, cute, good quality purse that isn't by an overpriced designer. Then I know that its REAL and its reasonably priced. they usually don't treat you like a princess in those snobby types of places anyways.

you don't get in trouble for buying fake bags bc they are fake, the people who make them aren't really in trouble either bc if u pay attention to the small itty bitty details there is something that isn't exactly like the real ones, you would get in trouble if they were the real ones and u bought it stolen but even then u could still say that u didn't know either, nothing wrong with a fake, legally anyway lol

No way, I would rather have a knock-off, save $$$ and be able to buy more knock-offs, rather than be stuck with just ONE $1000 purse!

the concept of paying too much for something of a transient value ( a purse is to be used for season only) is not really appealing to me. Try buying gold or bonds instead ... :)

First, how would we know where it came from, I am sure no one would want a knock off, or a purse that has been gotten from theives.

I don't care where it comes from as long as it's real.
