Was the actor Billy Connolly ever a cast member of Monty Python or appear in any of their movies?

....I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition. (hahaha)

Here is your answer.
You are correct...Billy Connolly was never a member of Monty Python.

But wait!...Connolly DID..."kind of-sort of" appear in a Monty Python film (of sorts). The film was "The Secret Policeman's Other Ball" and was made in 1982.

This is where it gets "iffy".

The film was a taping of an on-stage charity benefit for Amnesty International done in 1981 called "The secret Policeman's Ball".

The show includes comedy skits by some of the members of Monty Python, (John Cleese, Terry Jones, Michael Palin), as well as noted comedians Peter Cook, Rowan Atkinson, and others. The show also includes musical numbers by Eric Clapton, Sting, Donovan and Bob Geldof.

Soooo.....did Conolly ever appear in a true Monty Python film?
The facts are above....but you have to decide for yourself.

I hope this helped...and now for something completely different

No.

However he was involved with:

The Secret Policeman's Balls
The series was created by Monty Python alumnus John Cleese, record executive Martin Lewis and Amnesty UK Assistant Director Peter Luff working closely with Amnesty staff members. The trio worked together on the first two shows (1976 and 1977). After this, Cleese and Lewis worked on the next two shows (1979 and 1981) - utilizing the Secret Policeman's Ball name for the first time and developing the series identity. Cleese and Lewis subsequently worked individually on other Amnesty projects. Cleese made brief cameo appearances in the 1987 and 1989 shows and co-directed the latter. Lewis produced two American films drawn from the first four shows and then helped expand the participation of rock musicians for Amnesty (first engendered in the 1979 and 1981 shows) with his contributions to the 1986 Conspiracy Of Hope US tour and the 1988 Human Rights Now! world tour.

Afraid not, Monty Python was John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Jones, Graham Chapman and Terry Gillian. They were so poor making the films that extras were mostly friends and family members, and so wouldnt have really even been able to afford Billy Connolly, if they wanted him.

Yes, it is John Cleese that was a member of Monty Python, and to prove it, show your BF the source link for Billy Connolly.

He does look a lot like Cleese playing Tim the Enchanter in Holy Grail.
