Clinique is great if you have sensitive skin, or just if you don't like products with too many fragrances. I'm not sure how far the Napoleon Perdis brand of cosmetics and beauty has gone in the USA but it's definetly worth finding, his products are absolutely AMAZING!

I am a huge fan of Chanel, MAC, and Prescriptives! I've worked in make up for awhile now, and a brand to try is definitely Prescriptives if you haven't tried them before.
They specialize in foundations. They use a color-printing technique to find the undertones of your skin and find an exact match foundation that is perfect for you. No more of your face not blending in with your neck! Thank God!!!!
I think you will like there foundation, powders, eye shadows, lip glosses, and etc. They also have a mascara called False eyelashes and it works wonders. It gives you eyelashes you never thought you had. If you don't have a Prescriptives at you local mall, then try Dior or Clarins! These are great companies too! Good luck.

I stick to Maybelline, Covergirl and NYC. I love MAC but it's way too expensive... in my opinion these are the very best brands.

I am a big fan of Bare Minerals myself, but it can get a bit pricey. Maybelline came out with 'Dream Matte Mousse Foundation', and i was very surprised to learn that it's the best foundation I have ever used (good coverage, evens out nicely, lasts all day). Rimmell also has good products. 'Laura Gellar' makes good eyeshadow and face powder/bronzer.

I love the stuff from Benefit. Everything is good quality & it lasts a long time. I used to order online or through their (very cute) catalog. They recently opened a counter at one of the Macy's stores in my area so they may have more counters out there.

Sonia Kashuk, and Everyday Minerals (everydayminerals.com, you can get a free sample kit for only $3.67 shipping). Everyday Minerals works so much better than Bareminerals, it's not as shiny.

FLIRT! from Kohl's. It's actually from the same makers of Clinique and MAC, but less expensive and just as fun! Kohl's also has "American Beauty" which is more like Clinique - a bit more classic.

MAC is my all-time favourite. Nothing beats their pigments, period.
For mascara, though, I am addicted to Diorshow by Christian Dior (although lots of Dior makeup is also pretty fabulous.)
Benefit is amazing corrective stuff- it can do pretty much anything from erasing dark circles (I recommend their Lemon-Aid concealer in particular) to giving you an amazing natural flush. Plus, the packaging is adorable.

Clinique. Its a bit expensive, but if you want good products, there you are. Other than that, I use mostly NYC except for lipstick and eyeliner (the stuff that has to last). Hope that helps.
