i saw a couple episodes then suddenly they killed the dad. did he die in real life, get fired, quit the show? just curious

Sadly, John Ritter did die in real life... I think they should have just ended the show there. It got really depressing.

I am so suprised you ask. I cried when I heard about John Ritter's death. They had so many sotries about him in the news that year after he died. He seemed like such a good man.
He died shortly after filming his last episode. He was having chest pains during filming and went home. He died on the anniversary of September 11th, which was also his daugter's birthday. (Can you imagine your birthday being the same as your father's death and a national tragedy?)
His son Jason Ritter is now on the sitcom, "The Class". I watch the show and think it's pretty good. Every now and then I hear a little of John Ritter's voice in him.

John Ritter, the Dad and star of the show 8 SImple Rules, died of a heart attack after one season on the show. Of course, we remember him best as "Jack" on 3's Company.

Sadly, John Ritter as we all now know did pass away in real life. Good to hear you don't watch that much television. Tv can be a good source of information and entertainment but can be also anti-social activity.

Wow...you really must not have paid attention whatsoever! Which is understandable, I know...people shouldn't spend as much time paying attention to the tv as they should. But yeah, John Ritter, who played the dad, did pass unexpectedly.
