im really interested in this breed as a pet.

are they easy to train?
how often do they need to be groomed?

id like advice from someone who owns one.

I don't own the breed but have a friend who has had them for 20+ years. They are very easy to train & like doing agility. Can be a bit nervous & need plenty of socialising when young. They don't need as much grooming as you might think but do need regular grooming to keep on top of that coat.
Eskimo Spitz are not the same and anyway not available in the UK.
Have a look at the website for the JS Club, get in touch with some breeders and ask to go & meet the breed "in person"

I've never heard of a Japanese Spitz. Only Finnish.
