Your miscarriage has nothing to do with an abnormal pap smear. I know this for a fact. I had a miscarriage and a week or so later I also had a pap done and mine came back abnormal and I thought the same as you but my doctors informed me that a miscarriage will not affect a pap smear. there are diffrent grades of abnormalty. Did they tell you what grade ? Mine was severly abnormal... I was told it could be anything from herpes to cancer or it was possible it could have been nothing...in my case I had a cone biopsy done I had cervical dysplasia I had great doctors and they managed to get it all of it out ..I had to have a pap done every 3 months after my surgery for the first year to be sure that it didn't come back.. It's now year 7 and everything seems fine....Good Luck to you and I'll keep you in my Prayers..

it depends on when you miscarred, but an abnormal pap means that there is abnormal changed tissue. These changes are caused by HPV and the pap test will pick up on how the tissues have changed and to what degree. You will most likely be scheduled for a colpo, which is where a small biospy of your cervix will be taken and a scraping from the inside of your cervix as well. Most abnormal paps resolve themselves, but some progress to even greater changes.
As far as the miscarrage goes you need to tell your GYN because there are tests that need to be done to make sure everything has been removed, and there is no infection.

I know people who have had abnormal pap results... they went to the doctor and the doctor tested them for things and nothing was wrong. There are different things that could be wrong but I would not be worried until i received the results back of why it was abnormal...it could be from the miscarriage.

I assume its abnormal because of the miscarriage.

It could be alot of things, even something really minor

If the STD part of it cmae out clear maybe its just an infection but not all infection make a pap smear abnormal

I have had 2 abnormal paps. It could be just because you had a miscarriage. According to the doc, I had 2 because my period just ended. I am sure you are fine. Try not to stress.....

did they tell you if you were a low grate or high grate because ive had abnormal pap and they said i was high grate and i had to have a leep done and then 4 months later i had a abnormal pap that was high grate and im going to be having a cone done so it all depends what your results were they can be nothing serious and then it can be something serious so do everything the doctor tells you to do because it can change into cancer

why didnt you go to the hospital when you had a miscarriage? That would have been the first thing I done.

You have a possible infection......possibly treatable with a week of medication. Its very common that they would call one and tell them its abnormal over something as little as a yeast infection dont worry yourself too much. Medical science is so advanced now that almost anything is treatable. Good luck..
