Absolutely not. The fridge is HIS and he's responsible for it.

Here are a few things for you to do. Look inside the refrigerator annd locate the model and the serial number. If it is a normal top mount it will be in the fridge section on the top left corner along with the manufacturer. You will want to call them to see how much of a warranty you have. If you have one or a portion the company can a ssist in covering the repair. Otherwise if you have ot get it fixed. You can advise the landlord to take that amount from the cost of the rent.
(example: if your rent is $400 and the cost of repair is $150, then you can provided a copy of the reciept and $250) I had to do this awhile back.

No way! You are renting that apartment, which means that all the hardware and appliances are your landlord's responsibility. That is completely ridiculous that she would say that you have to pay for the repairs.
Check your state's renter's rights laws (each state is different, but the basic jist is the landlord must keep the apartment in good condition, i.e. fix the heat and major appliances like a refrigerator in a timely manner.)
If I were you, I'd print out your renter's rights laws, find the part that talks about keeping your place liveable and send your landlord a copy. You can probably find these by googling "oklahoma + renter's rights."
Also, if your lease is up soon, I definitely wouldn't renew it. If she's being a jerk about this, then who knows what she'd be like if something really serious happened (like a water leak, etc.)
Good luck!

Your renters agreement should spell this out. Likewise, if there are renter maintenance issues, the landlord should have a six month inspection or similar. Thats what I do. I don't want surprises, and the renters shouldn't be surprised either.
If my tenant is supposed to be doing something - its spelled out in the agreement, and I check for this during inspections. (LIke emptying the dehumidifier in the basement. But then I put in an automatic pump, because that is such a pain for everyone otherwise - even if its your own place.)
It doesn't sound like you should be paying this. In my experience dust bunnies and pet hair can impede the efficiency driving up your electric bill. I never had it ruin one, but I suppose it might be possible.

if you rented the apartment with a stove and fridge it is his responsibility to fix the fridge. I moved into an apartment ,the microwave was "leaking",they installed a new one in like 1 day.
I guess you have a deadbeat landlord,I would think about moving ,and good luck getting your security back, from the sounds of it ,you might have to take this guy to court.

no
typically the landlord is responsible for maintaning appliances
check your lease agreement
Cleaning the coils would require you to tip the fridge on its side. No one in their right mind would expect (or even want) the tennant to do this. What happens if the fridge falls on you? You could seriously hurt or kill yourself.

What is written in your lease agreement? If not then I would tell the landlord that they need to fix it and if your food spoils, you can add that to your landlords responsibility expenses. Write a certified letter to them explaining your intention if this issue is not resolved in a timely manner, the certified letter would be your proof in court of their negligence as a landlord and would make them accountable for the issue.

I think they cannot make you pay for that, unless it was a brand new item and you broke it accidentally.
As a Landlord he might expect the house to be neatly maintained, but I think this person is asking little too much.

I won't think a dirty coil would make a coil to break. if she gives you a problem call the place that gives out rental certificates to allow to rent, like planning and zoning or the health dept, they can help you.
