Its origin refers to the slave driver, the one who "cracks" the whip, but I personally think black people tend to associate it to the food. I guess you can say crackers are somewhat dry, white, and boring; the same types of adjectives black comedians like to use to describe our lifestyle...for what ever reason.

I don't know. Maybe because there are actually some who are offended by it. Since they're not supposed to say the N word, we shouldn't be able to say Cracker. A white guy I work with says cracker more than any black person I know.

Oh that's the most obvious one that they call you. You haven't been around much have you? I'm right next door to New York City and honey.......I thought the South was ruff! These Black people in the North will let you have it! I've heard black people call you white people much worse. It's just that cracker is the 1st thing that they call you. I'm not going to write what the other names are because I'm a lady.

Cracker is a racial epithet used for caucasians. It may come from saltine cracker or whip cracker. Some Honkeys are offended by this slur.

some names are rednecks, like you said crackers, paper towel, stain, southern huskies just some to name a few, hilbillies also. and i think they think is offensive because it's something that since their not white it's going to sound offensive in the eyes of another white person it's like calling black people the N word it's offensive to them to hear some other race say it

The word comes from how slave owners would crack the whip over the backs of black slaves hence crackers. Not saltine, no soup, nothing like that the meaning has historical significance. Blacks that say it these days dont even know wat it really means so nobody really should get offended by it if they dont know to what they are referring.

I dont know, but I think if a black person (or any person) said that to me Id burst out laughing. That is the most retarded term Ive ever heard. People need to stop sitting around on their asses all day and thinking of this crap.

White folks don't have a truly offensive slur against them. Only minorities have truly offensive terms
Cracker, white trash, and peckerwood are just synonyms for white folks. Black folks say it when a white person has truly pissed them off. For example, "that damn cracker has pissed me off because of..."

It does in Florida, cause it was the word for poor white trash who drove cattle hence the "crack" of the whip.
