Some of you told me that it is not illegal to sell designer clothing at a flea market that I bought online really cheap, but I know of a lady that was selling designer purses really cheap out of her home during "purse parties" and was recently busted by the local police and FBI! Does anyone know why?

There is a fine line between "knockoffs" and fakes. You are not allowed to use the name of the designer in the description of the item. The bag cannot have the name of the designer on it anywhere or the trademark of the designer anywhere. (IE Gucci double G's , Coach C, Dooney and Bourke DB)
The bag has to be distinguished enough from the designer version so that the average person would have no trouble looking at it and knowing the bag is a replica.

Because there are too many people out there that copy the designs and make them pass as the designer's when it is not. Such designers have lost a lot of money in profits because of it and it is illegal to do this.
It is considered a form of stealing.

Because she is not related or an employee of the said compnay of designer brand. Or she doenst have a license to sell (a business license).

You're not allowed to sell imposter's because it's against the law.They still take chances.
