If you are serious...

Every marginalized group has their cause. Feminists focus on the women's movement because it directly affects them. (Across cultures and ethnicities). The civil rights movement focuses on the rights of visible minorities because it directy affects them. Disabled people have fought for better accessibility to public places and equal rights in the workplace because those things directly affect them. That doesn't mean that feminists don't think men should succeed, or that civil rights activists don't think that white people should succeed, or that disabled people think that able-bodied people shouldn't succeed. They're all simply fighting for rights and equality in a world formerly controlled by white, able-bodied men.

In some circles, cademic theoretical feminism is more about gender than women. I will admit that feminism, as a political discourse, is primarily focused on women in relation to men in economic and social areas of life.

If feminism - and most feminists don't make this clear - is primarily concerned with gender as a social construct, then it becomes very relevant to men. Feminism is no longer about how men oppress women, but how social and/or economic structures, create oppressive gender roles that oppress everyone. So the focus isn't just on how gender can prevent a women from becoming a fire chief, it also focuses on how many men feel embarrassed about admitting to enjoying certain gendered activities, such as ballet.

It's too bad most feminists don't understand the theoretical foundation of feminism. They instead use it as a banner to promote unfair political attacks against men.

Its not that we don't want are other sexes to win, but we have a lot more against us. On average a woman is paid less than a man with the same degree and experience, also we are ask questions that should never be asked... Do you have kids, do you want anymore? How does that effect my ability to succeed in your company, Men have always been the first foot forward and today women are realizing they to can be the bread winner, I don't know why that is such a bad thing, If the woman wants to work, that means men if they want can stay home or work and have a larger income into the household its a win-win.

Feminism whether it's women or men is about choice and so yes they do care about their male parents, sibs, friends. Generally tho feminists know that women are still behind in many ways because the old boys networks likes it like that and alot of feminist men with daughters know it's true too. There are women who are a part of the old boys network and like to keep women down as well, lessens the competition.
So until it's really a fair playground in work, education, health , families, women who are feminists will champion the women's causes.

Jon you are mistaken, feminism is about equality in all areas which means, sexism, ableism, classism, racism, ageism, etc. It means that there is not a power inequality between anyone no matter who they are. Men and women equal. Whites and minorities equal. Disabled and abled equal. Old and young equal. and on and on and on. You need to become better informed.

My sisters and I only need the male gender for breeding stock and manual labor as we enjoy daily softball tournaments complete with trophies and a keg of beer to tap.

I could argue that men are always on about women too. Look in any man's magazine and what do you see? Women, usually relegated to a sex object. We have to look out for ourselves. Of course I want my male relatives to secede. Your question just proves that you are not really in touch with women and their feelings. So many people asking questions here are obsessed with this topic. I can only assume it has to do with a low self-esteem in the questioners.

We need all the support from women that we can get. We sure as hell aren't getting it from men.
