It doesn't happen all the time but often. If i am driving in my car I imagine me having an horrible accident!!! Or I I am using a knife to cut a fruit I think about cutting my veins, I imagine people coming to rape me!! or I imagine God having s*ex w/ the de*vil. I am very ashamed of this what can I do??

This sounds exactly like OCD. OCD isn't just repeatedly checking things or washing your hands. Nor is it only hoarding stuff. These are all symptoms, but one that often gets left out is the "Obtrusive, unwanted thoughts." I had a form of this OCD and have gone through cognitive behavioral therapy as well as treatment with anti-depressants.

Go talk to a psychiatrist about this. Don't be ashamed or feel like they have never heard about this before. I know how that feels like, but you have to tell yourself that these unwanted thoughts are a symptom, much like a sore throat indicates a cold or strep, of an anxiety disorder.

And that's the other things---you are not crazy. At least not from what I can tell from reading your question. OCD is an anxiety disorder and is more common than you would think.

Hope this helps, take it one day at a time.

There is something going on within you that is beyond the scope of this format. You need to find some professional help to come to an understanding of these things. I don't think you will be able to do this on your own.

Start with your regular doctor, and see if you can get a good referral. Always work with referrals if at all possible. There are a lot of wacko therapists out there, and there are some really good ones.

Best wishes to you, and do not lose hope. You are on ther right track when you recognize you have problems and want to do something about them.

Some people are just thick headed man because of the way they are raised. She needs a good reality check. You could maybe talk to her about it but most of those people are pretty stubborn. She'll shut up one day when an African American person helps her out in a bad situation one day or something like that. I agree people like that really screw this world up. We're all just people and we are all imperfect.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy may be the answer. It acknowledges that thoughts can affect the way we feel and therefore trains us to think differently. I've just started reading a book on the subject. It can be found on one of the links below. (Sorry, the second link is a bit long so I hope it works.)

The one thing that kind of works for me is to immediately change the thought, block it out, think of something different. Think about more important things. If you keep thinking these things, they will get to you, so block them out. It is just that easy. Does that make sense?

It sounds like you have too much time on your hands and your are not thinking about other things and so your mind just wanders. It happens to me a lot.

that sounds like OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). you need to see a therapist to talk about this. an old boyfriend of mine used to have thoughts like that, but he talked to someone and they prescribed him medicine to take. in a few weeks he was so much better and happier. you can look online or use the phone book to find a therapist. you may need to try a few before you find one that you trust enough to talk to.
