Sure with education many women now make more money than their husband's do and it's a family decision who gets to stay home. So yes of course women can be the breadwinner and nothing 's wrong with that either, other than the man's ego getting bent out of shape because he's not ' da man'.

I believe women can certainly be breadwinners and the man be a househusband, but there are 3 main barriers to this, in order of difficulty:
1) Men are nowhere near as good at taking care of very young children as women.
2) Too many men have too much of an ego problem with their woman making more money than he does.
3) Women have at least a slightly harder time making enough money to qualify as a "breadwinner."

Yes a woman can be the breadwinner, not every situation is ideal, not all women with children have a man to stay at home with the kids. So while tradition is okay, survival is primary.

A lot of families have women as the "breadwinners" so yes, women can actually support a household while men stay home and take care of kids.

That's between the man and woman who goes to work and who stays home. I do believe that a woman could be the breadwinner and the man stay home to take care of the home and kids if that's what's agreed between the two of them.

It's possible but I think a woman is just better at staying home and taking care of the children. Women are emotional in order to take care of children and men well they're too macho. However if a single mom had to take care of her children then she has to work or let the children starve. So it depends on the circumstances.

yep. i'm the breadwinner in my relationship, my husband may or may not stay home with the kids when we have them, it's up to him. i'd love to, but i have the degrees that make it possible to earn more. and he has a son already, so has experience parenting very young children--and he's VERY good at it. i think it's sexist to say that a man can't be as good a parent!!!

Of course she can. Both my husband and I work. I make considerably more than he does. For us, this is not a problem because he is what I classify as a real man. He doesn't put his ego before my career. He is very proud of the success I have made of my life and is my biggest supporter.
