You can get into uni without A level maths. It does depend on the course though. It is impossible to do certain subjects without maths A level such as Physics and Engineering. Most science subjects will probably like you to have done maths but unless they state that they need it you can get in without it. They won't think you are stupid if you haven't done maths. It may make the course slightly harder but if you are prepared to work that bit extra on any maths that comes up it will be fine.
Personally I did maths A level and I am studying Natural Sciences at Cambridge which involves Physics and therefore my Maths A level was vital but there are people taking very biological sciences here who have not got maths a level and they are coping fine.

Maths is not required at A Level if its not one of the course's required subjects.
You can definitely get into uni without Maths A level if you are applying, for example, history, english or art etc. Though, obviously, you will really need it for science/ engineering -related courses.
The most some places (Unis and employers) may want you to have is a GCSE in it, and I think that covers the kind of basic maths you will find in most subjects (in anything from research methods to drawing accurately). But even then, I know some people who are fine without even a GCSE in it -so don't worry!

my daughter didn't need A level maths for her social sciences degree course but because of the fact that there are complusory Research Methods Modules some of the stuff she covered in As level maths has helped her understanding of some of the mathematical concepts/calculations. I think that it's just the same as needing a certain level of English you do need a certain level of mathematical knowledge to be able to cope. So I yes the answer is it's not essential ask the Uni you want to go to for clarification. Are you going on any Open Days?

it really is deffinatley unfair, if i change into you i'd cell telephone them and ask them to grant a proof for why it makes a replace, it quite doesnt make adventure, it has no longer something to do mutually such as your mom and father attending or now no longer! once you've the right grades they could might want to take delivery of you. It doesnt subject that you've a "deprived historic previous" everyone come from one of a kind households and social backgrounds in spite of the undeniable fact that genuinely no longer in society can ought to it impact your lengthy run, artwork confusing and finally end up passable! If this uni rejected then you definately its quite now no longer worth getting disillusioned about, you'll do exactly as sturdy at an extra effective training (:

If you intend to do any technical type of courses at Uni, i.e.
Maths, Physics, Engineering...
Without maths - you are SCREWED.
For any of the soft social type courses - it doesn't matter at all.
