What other adjustments can I make to the screen to be easier on my eyes , if using it for 8 hours a day?

Another important adjustment for me, turned out to be *surprisingly* important, was to make print size larger than looked right at first. At first I had it set small for efficiency so's I could cram more stuff in at once. But I set it a bit larger and, gee whiz, it surely did ease the pain during long (for me, 12-hour) days.

First you have to find what the max resolution is for your laptop. All laptop screens are not equal.

Once you find the max resolution, then it is a matter of preference on what is easy on your eyes. The same reason that some people need glasses and others don't.

You might set different colors on text and background and text size.
