If so how did you get off with it and why do you not pay?

I'm not a man - but i know a bit about child support!

The only way to get off with it (in the UK), is to stay on JSA benefits/Disability benefits for the rest of your life and just pay a standard £5 a week.

Or... Go self employed and get yourself a dodgy accountant who'll make your tax returns say that you work for £30 per week,

Or.... Work on the side, cash in hand and don't let the inland rev. find out.

Or.... Move abroad - but make sure you're not working for a british based company!

I think the main reasons for not paying are (in no particular order)
1. They don't want to!
2. They don't care!
3. They have better things to do with their money.
4. They are bitter & twisted!

My ex is in prison and so I don't get the $500 a month that I was awarded. I have to make up for that to my daughter. It is not me that it affects - it is her. That money would help offset so many of the costs of her being in Jr High and sports and everything she wants and needs. Why should she have to suffer just because her father is not here and not helping pay for medical, food, clothes, school, etc. It gets spendy.

I don't mind paying it because I love her dearly and I know if he was out of prison he would pay for his half. He has already promised to help her with college after he gets out and help offset that.

I know a lot of guys who do not believe in child support because they think the mothers just use the money for fun. I am sure there are mothers out there who do that, too. What most of these guys are not looking at is the cost of raising a child. If they contributed to making the child, they should contribute to that childs well being. After all, the child did not ask to be brought into this world. If they are though we need to take the best care of them possible.

i agree with sls venus you sound like a selfish git and im answering your other question here aswell dont even think about leaving the poor girl when she is about to give birth that is the one of the worst things you could do her hormones are allover the place she will be feeling low through tiredness she may get postnatal depression made clinically worse by you and her self esteem and confidence will be in shreds she will feel unattractive and fat already without you giving her more problems if you must leave at least wait a while and explain it nicely and properly and pay for your children dont try and wriggle out of it think of someone else for a change the poor baby needs love and the poor mother needs support so she can look after the baby you wouldnt want your kid to be hungry living in squalor with a depressed mother unable to look after it would you? You are not the most imortant thing here your babies welfare is GROW UP.

i dont to my ex wife we have an 18 yr old girl and a 15 yr old boy and in the 10 yrs since we split ive never given her a penny, when we split i payed off the mortgage and signed over the house in full and final settlement, after 8 yrs she got in touch with the csa and tryed to get more monies as she knows that i travel the world and she got jealous, yet as im self employed i just told the csa that i havent been earning alot and they got in touch and told me that i dont owe anything, so much for her being greedy. i dont mind providing for my kids and always give them a good allowance for pocket money but i dont see why i should pay for her and her new guy thats living in my house. i also have a 2 yr old son in new Jersey with an ex flame that i met when working in the USA and i give her as much as i can afford when i can which at the moment is not a lot as work in the Uk is getting harder to find, she does understand and ive told her that she can always come and live here and i will support the both of them always.....

My Ex doesn't pay because he is low life scum, who doesn't deserve someone as precious as my Daughter.

I don't think there is ever going to be a good enough excuse, for not supporting your own flesh and blood!

I'm the custodial parent. I don't take a dime from the kids father. I let him live his life.
