I am really tired all the time-I just started an exercise program and hopefully that will help, but I'm sure i need to take some kind of vitamin also. A friend recommended B12 and i started that 2 days ago, but is there a possibility of overdose if that isn't what I need?

~I am a 31 yr old mom of 3 kids and I work full time-sure I'm going to be tired, but I mean ready to go to bed at 7:30 every night is crazy! I am 5"3 and 155lbs, which is considered slightly overweight, but I feel sooooo out of shape!

Any tips or suggestions would be great-Thanks!

I am a couple years older than you and also a mom of three. Right after I had my last baby, who is now two and a half I felt pretty much the same way. I had anemia during my pregnancy and had to take iron during and after. I also took prenatal vitamins and now i take a multivitamin. All vitamin supplements should be taken after eating something with a LITTLE fat to help with absorption. The iron alone really wasn't enough, i started walking at least three times a week and eliminated simple carbs. Giving up sugar was the hardest but, i just substituted whole wheat pasta for the regular stuff and i had been eating whole grain bread before. Lots of green leafy stuff and a bit of good fats like avocado and olive oil, no red meat. Taking a vitamin will help but, there is no substitute for a good diet. (It couldn't hurt to see a doctor)

The first thing you need to do is get a good physical with blood work to be sure you don't have anemia or something else going on. The get on a good multivitamin that is well absorbed by the body. If it isn't one that is well absorbed then you won't get the proper nutrition from it. Once you have been on it for a couple of weeks if you don't feel better than change to a different vitamin as that one is not right for you. Take a good antioxidant supplement daily too. Get rid of the toxic chemical cleaners and laundry products in your home as this too could be causing some of your products. Many of those cleaners are registered pesticides. As for b-12 if you don't have pernicous anemia it probably won't do you much good. See your doc for a physical and blood work first and then start a good vitamin routine.

I would consult a doctor and convey my questions and concer. You should ask him to check your thyroid and blood count because anemia and hypothyroidism can go un noticed and can be a culprit for fatigue. Stress is another culprit.
As far as overdosing on B12....There is a safe FDA recommended dose and our needs and our bodies dont absorb 100% of most vitamins and minerals .a person can overdose on just about any vitamin supplement, so if you choose to take any supplement make sure its at a low dose. .Ask a pharmicists as well for advice.

have you checked your blood count to see if your anemic? excercise is good, plenty of water, of course having 3 kids make you tired. Try yoga. B12 is good try something that has everything in it. Go to the health food place. Those vitamins in the store in not all that great all the time. When you go to the gym find out about your weight is it good for your height. Sometimes we need to do a colon cleanse, to flush all that stuff out. Thats one way people get cancer because things sit and grow inside of you.
