When I see peopleat school who have friends, a couple or just look happy with themselves I get itimidated by how popular they may be or how people want to be around them or they have something to offer that people click to? What should I do when feeling like this in school or in public?

Just don't worry about it.
I mean that is what is wrong with high school these days.
Everyone is worried about everyone else and how they look and what name brands everyone is wearing.
Be happy that you have made it this far and get a goal and go for it. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks, says or does.

I am one of those people that have yet to meet a stranger...I am comfortable in a roomful of people or one on one...but I have a child that was so backward and quiet in school the teacher actually yelled at her because she would not speak up when roll was taken. She was miserable most of her younger years because of this. Having the gift of verbal gab is something your born with, some have to acquire it other ways. With my daughter I tried helping her get through it, what finally worked was helping others with the same problem as her. I told her to look around her, she would see someone with the same look on their face and go to them, befriend them, all people need/want friendship but don't know how to achieve it on their own, but by one person taking the step it would have a domino effect on others. She didn't stop at one person, little by little through out her high school years she befriended one person after another, sharing her thoughts to those she befriended who in turn befriended someone else. Today she lives in Germany with her husband and 3 children and she greets new wives of the military personnel stationed at that base.

sounds like you have low selfasteem or just have the blues. whatever the reason you should think about getting counseling to help you sort out your feelings and find good ways of dealing with them. its hard but if you really want to feel better, then go for it.

try to think of ways to make yourself more popular. be comfortable within yourself and not worry what the other person is doing or what other people are thinking.
