Is there an English website with guidelines on how much you can get for injuries caused by a road traffic accident? I have just been offered £1800 for an accident I had in June 06 but due to my solicitor's lack of advice I have no idea if this is a good offer or not.

If it was a shunt , as in if your car was hit from behind ,then yes £1800, is about right iv been there and it was explained to me like this, basically the courts have a pot of money for this type of RTA ,£2500, max . but its very rare to get the full amount so it is usually close to that figure, but lots of things are taken into account Age/your health before the accident etc.etc. my advice just take the money and run!

You have the option of a claim through the courts. This sometimes encourages the insurance companies to up their offer. Injuries affect different people in different ways. There might be long term effects. Seek out a specialised solicitor, whose function is dealing with road accident claims. I injured my back in 1997 and last year took my case to the High Court, where I was awarded £65000.
