I live downstairs from a grown man. We have a huge parking lot, about 10 spaces .. only my sister, I and this man live there. We are all grown adults.

He usually parks in the end spot closest to his walkway upstairs, but there are no "defined" parking spots. A couple of times within a few months time period, a friend parked in "his spot" overnight .. instead of asking me or my sister kindly, which he does see us in passing frequently, he decides to call the landlord and complain and "tell on us" like a 2 year old over his "imaginary" parking space. The landlord was actually embarrased to call and tell me he called over such a trivial matter.

Since he stooped to such ridiculously low behavior, I am thinking of putting some nice long nails in his parking spot.. so he can park there any time he wants!

Is this a bad idea? Any other ideas? Egg his car?

The guy seems really DUMB! I don't think he would even suspect me or my sister being involved

I think, even though he's being immature...it'd be even more immature to stoop to his level. Also, it'd be so obvious that it was you who did it...after all, you said you, your sister, and that man are the only ones who live in the building....I'd say don't do it...but I wouldn't say no if you wanted to park in "his spot" just to spite him.

Please don't "stoop" to his level of pettiness by doing something even more crazy as destroying his tires. You could get yourself into legal trouble or even face eviction. The adult thing to do, since he's obviously immature, would be to talk to him about the space with the landlord/property management about "imaginary" designated parking spaces. He'll know you were the one who put nails in his tires...you're the only one feuding with him.

Not a good idea. Like you said, you're all adults and if he's going to be juvenile, no need to stoop to his level. Plus, a guy who's so inconsiderate is not one you'd want to get into a sabotage game with. Just let it go and let him "win". The real winners are you guys and he's a proven loser to everyone but himself.
Let it go, not because he's anyone special, but because YOU're above it.

hmmmmmmmmmmm

I have that sort of think with my landlord too.

Its parking spaces in the STREET though.

He always yells "you are taking two parking spaces" I'm sorry I sold your wife that car if you are gonna do that.

Next time I'm gonna suggest he paint some lines on the street or stop complaining I think.

No, where as they sound like satisfing ideas, if he could prove that it was you, you could be in legal trouble.

I know it sounds tough, but move on and try to not let it upset you so much.
