there isn't anything you can do but take care of yourself. often times placenta previa will fix itself but if the placenta hasn't moved away from the cervix by delivery time you will have to get a c-section. don't think of it like a disappointment though, it is best for your baby.

Are you talking about placenta previa? I'm assuming you've been diagnosed... there are a lot of online resources and support groups. It depends how far along you are. I had a partial previa diagnosed with my first pregnancy (it was just touching the cervical os), but as my pregnancy progressed & uterus grew the placenta moved upward. I was told to take it easy, and not to spend extended periods of time standing.

If you aren't too far along, you may get lucky and it won't present a problem later in your pregnancy. If you have a severe previa I'm sure you've already been told to stay off you feet, possibly put on bedrest, because of bleeding issues. If your placenta doesn't move you will possibly need a c-section, because you can't deliver your placenta before the baby is born.

Don't underestimate the power of positive thinking... visualize your placenta moving where it needs to be, and a health birth and baby.

All the best!

I had placental previa when I was pregnant, my placenta was moved to the side a bit. Basically, I was told that I would have to have a Csection if it continued, and that my condition would have to be a bit more closely monitored, but really- there is nothing you can do. My advice is just to take it easy, rest as much as possible, don;t lift anything heacy, don't have actual intercourse, as this can cause bleeding, and just try and stay relaxed. it is NOT going to hurt your baby at all. Be aware that you may just start bleeding for no apparant reason, but don't panic- just call your doctor right away and see what they say! You'll be fine. And, just to let you know- in my 6th month I had another ultrasound and my placenta had moved into the proper position and all was well!

There isn't anything you can do to change the position of the placenta. If it is even partially covering the cervix, then you will have to have a c-section because the placenta can't come out before the baby!

you just have a placenta previa. nothing to worry about. in most cases, as the baby grows, the placenta will grow up and not cover the cervix anymore. if it does move, you will be able to have a regular vaginal delivery. however, if it doesn't move, you will have to have a c-section. i had a previa with both my pregnancies. the first one moved and i'm still waiting for the second. the good thing about it is that you get more sonograms so you can see the baby more. your doctor will watch it closely.

There isn't anything you can do. If you smoke, you should quit (not saying you do). Sometimes the placenta will migrate on its own, sometimes it won't. Just take it easy b/c this can cause severe bleeding. If you start bleeding, go to the ER right away! Also, plan on a C-section if the placenta stays low.

you have placenta previa? Ask your doctor....you need to be monitored very closely.

Vaginal bleeding can occur......... It is apt to occur suddenly during the third trimester.
Bleeding is usually bright red and painless. Some degree of uterine irritability is present in about 20% of the cases.
Initial bleeding is not usually profuse enough to cause death; it spontaneously ceases, only to recur later.
The first bleed occurs (on average) at 27-32 weeks' gestation.
Contractions may or may not occur simultaneously with the bleeding.

Nothing but be monitored by your Dr. You will have to have a c-section to deliver your baby, and the placenta can't come out first.

Wait and hope for the best. They may put you on bed rest as the baby gets bigger.
