What ever they can find, they forage under snow for seeds, the birds at my place are lucky they have heated water and lots of food year round, I put out 16 lbs of bird seed a week and they eat it all.

Bags of bird seed we get for them each winter! Some birds store up stuff before the snow hits. The blue Jays we have store up our bird seed.
