Nope. I'm in my late teens and a girl and cra-z for comics!! Tell whoever told you to drop them to go to hell! It's perfectly fine to like comics! Better then burning you eyes out with tv. I Love comics because of their art, stories, and value. Someday I hope I get the blessing to work with Marvel Comics. I'm already in college studying art to draw comics.

It is a sad stereotype that if you read comic books, you are a geek... I mean, there are some people who ONLY read celebrity magazines like In Touch, US, Star.. but does anyone ridicule them for reading those rags. Have you noticed that some of the people who call you dorky for reading comics, DON'T EVEN READ ANYTHING AT ALL FOR ENTERTAINMENT... They would rather zone out with the boob-tube.
Also, the media likes to play up the 'comic nerd' angle ALOT, I mean, when they interview someone about a comic or a superhero, they ALWAYS get the biggest geek they can find, the fat sweaty 'Simpson's Comic Book Guy' look-a-like who goes ON and ON about how in issue #142, if you notice, you will see that the line quality of the Silver Surfer is not as good as the line quality in issue #143, that is due to the fact that Mr. John Q. Artist was sick that day, thus his rendering of Galactus was not up to snuff... has anyone seen my inhaler?

I'm not into comic books (except for Sailor Moon, as you can see)... but Nicholas Cage said comic books are our times' mythology, how dorky can mythology be??
Hey.. maybe some thousands years from now, other civilizations will be doing research about this so-called Superman, or trying to figure out if Gotham City really existed, and where was it located, if so.

Yes it is, but that's not the point.
I'm 24 and I've just gotten into the "Civil War" series for Marvel. I read a lot of graphic novels, and watch cartoons and still find a way to hold down a girlfriend.
Geeks shall inherit the earth, man.

No, it's not dorky. They are dorky for saying that. Just take care of your comics and they will be collecters items one day. I like Spiderman too and I'm 46 and my wife, kids and friends don't think I'm a dork.

The Authority quantity one. Freaking magnificent! large action/political fact e book. Blankets via Craig Tompson maximum intellectually difficult and gratifying e book. perhaps because of the fact that is like 1000 pages, even though it develop into so marvelous. I had to study it some circumstances although and plenty slower than I study maximum issues.

Not in the least. Those people are probably mouthbreathers who don't read at all.
Try "Sandman", "Watchmen", "Strangers in Paradise", "Fables", "100 Bullets", and there's lots more. Anything written by Warren Ellis ("Planetary") or Brian Michael Bendis ("Powers") is worth checking out.
The hobby is NOT all about guys/gals wearing spandex, yknow.
