I am currently unemployed, though I'm with a temp agency and so I get short jobs often. I'm going to school two days a week so I can juggle jobs between classes. I really want to transfer to the college that accepted me a few years ago, but it's expensive, and I have no money. I have to work on building credit so I can get student loans, since my parents don't want to co-sign anything and have said they will not help with money.
Here's the tricky thing- my boyfriend, who I live with, makes over five times as much money as I do, and has told me he'll happily support me if I want to go to school full time and not work. He says it would be 'investing in our future', which is sweet. Still, it makes me nervous: I want be be my own girl, and make my own money. However, I really want to get credits and eventually go to my dream college. I don't know which to do! I don't want to mooch off of my boyfriend, but I don't want to put off my goals just to satisfy my pride.

Take the offer of school. However you do not have to go to your dream college. Pick one that can provide a good education and don't be extravagant. A college degree will lead you to much higher paying positions in the future. Sounds like you have a great bf and you need to listen to him. You can either work summers or go to school and get an education as soon as possible. It is in the best interest of your future and don't feel as if you are mooching. Couples have to work together to get to their dreams.

I know that I'm not old enough to really tell you what to do but I'll tell you this. "never give tomorrow what you can do today". Get a part-time job or some kind of job that pay well but still go to school. If you work full time and don't go to school, you might not want to go back to school anymore. And you might lost some opportunities that you might have. SO you can get some help from your boyfriend but go to school and go to work. That's exactly what you should do. And also apply for scholarships. Go the college's website and you'll find something. You only have to know how to look for these stuffs. I hope that you make a great decision. Let me know what you've decided. Think smartly!

If your accepted and you wanna go to college. I would say Go for it. Too many people just give up. I understand you want to do it on your own but sometimes you need help. I would say maybe do a semester with him helping you, in the mean time maybe get a little job or it gives u time to get credit for student loans so maybe after that first semester you can do it on your own. If he offered its not mooching.

Go to school NOW.
Get school OVER WITH!
And THEN you can pay off the loans for college once you get the degree. Because THEN you will have the money.

Girl, someone is handing you the iopportunity to get farther with your education, I say go for it. Go to school now, not when you have the money or time. The older you get the harder it will be to go.
Keep the house clean, cook meals, take care of him the way he will of you and this way you are contributing, just not finacially.
