First of all, a 1995 lumina has no distributor so you can not check that. second, you should do the basic things first. check the battery for corrosion, change your fuel filter, you may even have a starter that is about to go out.

Remove the ignition module found in the base of the distributor. clean off the old silicone grease. Apply a generous amount of new ignition module grease to the bottom of the module and tighten it bask in the distributor snugly. If that doesn't do it, use an inductive timing light hook the induction clamp to any ignition wire. Hook the red timing light red wire to a 12 volt source and the black wire to a clean ground. Tape the trigger on the to the on position. With your hood open lay the timing light beside you on the car seat. When the motor is stone cold stare at the lighting lens in the timing light and attempt to start your car. Idealy, the light should flash immediately when you crank thre motor if the light does not flash the coil or module has a problem. If you see a flash immediately. Have your fuel pressure checked and or change the fuel filter. Run some Chevron Injector Cleaner in your gas tank. Good luck.

That first answer was WAY out there. The 95 Lumina has no distributor, it has 3 coil packs which sits on the module.

Run a can of gas/carb cleaner through it, then replace fuel filters. Also, fill the gas tank to cut down on condensation.
