I have everything set up, right now i have a cord running from my laptop to the router because thats what the setup instructions told me to do. I'm using EasyLink Connect to set it up. Only everytime I run it, it comes up with "NO WIRELESS CONNECTION. Easylink could not setup a wireless connection to the router." Does anyone know how i can fix this? and can you tell me in idiot terms, because i'm not all that literate when it comes to computers. thanks

is the notebook wireless? if it is, and you have a wireless router, it should find it automaticly.
Maybe try to remove the cord ,if they are both wireless you dont need any cords.
Also, is the router connected to an ISP? and do you know for sure that this connection is working properly?

Please forgive if these are obvious, but you did ask for "idiot terms"...

1) Are you sure the router is a wireless router? What make/model is it?
2) If it is, is the wireless radio set up and active? Do you know the SID and wep/wap settings?
3) Does the laptop have wireless capability?

If the router is a wireless router but you're not sure of the wireless status, log on to the router and go through it's configuration. (Check the router's manual for info.)
