No upside down loop- there is not enough room to get the momentum going for an upside down loop- but it is the best roller coaster, and lots of sideways loops, people farting in your face, etc.

It never had an upside down loop. I've been riding Space Mountain for YEARS and I also worked at Disneyland from 2000-2004.

No! There are no loops on Space Mountain. Overall, its the top best and fastest ride in disneyland, CA. The only downside is that it breaks down alot and you usually end up waiting for another hour or two in line. Last time time I was there, had to wait three hours just to go on it. Highly recommend going to disneyland early in the morning when they open then head right away to space mountain.

It never had an upside down loop in it. I first rode Space Mountain the year it opened (1977), and many times since. The track itself was completely rebuilt/replaced in 2005, but with exactly the same layout as the original track. They changed other elements of the ride, like the addition of a soundtrack and different lighting.

After reading your question, I was pretty certain that the ride never had any loops (although I have never been on the older ride).
But then I went onto Wikipedia and looked the ride up...
"The Paris version features a launch and two inversions"
Sounds awesome, and a little scary, considering the answer from EBL... I'm sure it's true information ^_~

Disneyland's Space Mountain never had any loops (almost everyone has already said that). The trains don't even reach 30 mph, believe it or not! That's too slow to take any inversions.

No, the old space mountain never had any loops. The track that is in there now is the same design as the old track, just redone to make it safer and whatnot. I love that ride!

Hey, Liz. Sadly there was never a loop...many sudden dips but no upside down. Since they changed the ride I think it became shorter...maybe thats just me?!

Space Mountain was the first tubular steel coaster. It paved the way for today's modern coasters. Just the fact that it was indoors and made with tubular steel made it a novelty. It never had any inversions at all.
