When I am away on business I stay in a nice hotel, have room service, long bath, bottle of wine and watch whatever I want on TV and then sleep diagonally across the double bed

Try reinventing yourself for the night. If your 'Steve the Sales Rep' why not spend the evening introducing yourself as 'Dave the Daredevil Pilot' or even 'Analise the Exotic Dancer'

You can go sightseeing alone, or they may have group tours. You can always go out to dinner with a business associate that you are working with.

Buy a good book and sit in the bar. Thats what I used to do and people will always come and sit and chat. You can meet some interesting people that way

i allways take jeans &tshirts as stuck in suits allday want to feel relaxed at evening then have a drink in hotel or find a nice pub nearby hotel best bet if you want to talk to people pub if yu want to be alone & carry on working
