Just about every country around the world does this, sooner or later we may have to resort to these techniques to get information or demoralize the enemy. Why do we hold ourselves to this higher standard?

The US Constitution has 10 Amendments that we call the Bill of Rights. One of those rights is "No cruel or unusual punishments". Citizens of the United States of America should not be subjected to torture by our government. Does this mean that we should extend this right to non citizens? I don't think so, but then I'm not a liberal democrat.
