On your LapTop

3 - In the wizard choose A Network printer then click next
4 - select connect to this printer
5 - in the box type \\name of desktop\name of printer click next

You need to connect your printer to your computer through USB. If your computer is wireless, i dont think the printer is!

The printer probably came with a CD. Connect the printer to the computer and run the CD. If you lost it, search for the driver online. Usually, the manufacturer site should have it there for users to download.

You will need to be connected to the desktop in order to use this printing feature. If you are both on the same router, try this:

Double click Network Neighborhood and then double click Entire Network. If you see the other computer, double click on it. You should see the shared printer listed. Double click on it, and your computer will ask you to install the driver. Follow the steps to install the driver.

Now, if you do NOT see the desktop, then y ou may need to check your settings for networking.

yes, any printer will need the drivers to be installed. All HP network printers are like that. If you don't have the drivers on a cd, click on the link and go from there.

yes you need to install the print driver onto your wireless computer, if it's not installed already.
you also need to have a printer that is connected to your router, or you will need a print server to be able to print wirelessly.
Some new printers have wireless capabilities built into them.
